Milk Egg

Hook – Size 14 / 16 TMC 2457 scud hook
Body – 6 or 4 mm Otter Egg, ruby or tangerine
Milk – white Otter’s Egg Veil
Thread – red

Mount Otter egg on the scud hook. Tie Egg Veil in at the hook and bring it back and over the egg. Secure it behind the egg and whip finish.  The veil should be somewhat sparser than in the picture.

The guys fishing at Copper John’s Resort have had great success with these in January. The materials can be obtained at the fly shop at Copper John’s. The fly was tied by Ron McQuay.
