Trout Crack

Hook:  Scud hook, size 14-20 (I use Tiemco 2487)
 
Thread:  Tan
 
Body:  Tan Antron Dubbing
 
Back:  Dark Brown V-Rib
 
Rib:  Tan Thread
 
INSTRUCTIONS:
 
Step 1 - Start thread at head and wrap back to bend of hook.
 
Step 2 - Tie in thread rib at bend of hook.
 
Step 3 - Tie in V-Rib
 
Step 4 - Dub Antron onto shank.
 
Step 5 - Pull V-Rib forward to just behind eye of hook and tie off - trim.
 
Step 6 - Wrap thread rib over V-Rib up to just behind the eye of the hook and tie
             off.
 
Step 7 - Whip finish and cement.
 
 
Fishing this fly - I use a low-profile strike indicator on about 8-9 feet of leader on a 5X or 6X tippet, depending on size of fly.  Depending on current, I may use a small split shot to get it down or nothing at all if current is minimal.
