Hook 14 - 18 wet fly #1306 Mustad or equivalent.
Peacock Herl - 2 strands
Thread - Red #6 or #8
Partridge Hackle
Start by wrapping the hook from the eye to the bend, and into the bend if you prefer. Wrap forward about an eighth of an inch and tie in 2 strands of herl.
Wrap the hurl forward and tie off with 3 turns of thread.
The in the partridge by the tip and wrap around the hook with 2 wraps and secure with 3 wraps of thread and whip finish.
Put a dab of head cement on the thread.
I fish this fly by casting upstream at a 45 degree angle and letting it drift through the riffles until it tails out and rises to the top. I then strip it in with short 1 - 2 inch strips.
A good trout catcher.
