Friends of the White and Norfork Rivers is an organization advocating and protecting the entire watershed of the White and Norfork Rivers. The Friends was largely responsible for halting gravel mining in Crooked Creeked. Many members of NAFF are also members of the Friends. This is the conservation organization for people who live in this area!
Friends of the Norfork National Fish Hatchery is an advocate organization for the fish hatchery. This hatchery produces 500,000 pounds of fish every year, most of which are released into the White and Norfork Rivers. Dry Run Creek, a trophy fishing area limited to kids 15 and under and to the handicapped, is fed by the outflow of the hatchery. The Friends has been established to insure that the hatchery continues to operate, and thrive, in the 21st century.
Fly Fishing Arkansas Bulletin Board is sponsored by local fishing guide Jon Wilson and is moderated by several local guides. This is the bulletin board for fly fishing info about the Arkansas tailwaters. The participants are very knowledgeable and helpful.
