These are links to websites that might be of interest to NAFF members and other fishermen who fish the White and Norfork Rivers.
Websites specific to the Ozarks and White River System
Scott Branyan has published the Ozark Fly Flinger website continuously (with weekly, and often daily, updates) since 1996. The site has grown is a very complete information source on fly fishing Arkansas' White River tailwater system.
NAFF member Fox Statler's web site is an essential resource for anyone who interested in warm water fly fishing in the Ozarks! There is a lot of good information and fly patterns. Fox is always thinking outside of the box!
Jeremy Hunt's Complete White River Fly Fishing Website has a lot of good information on the White River System. However Jeremy is a guide so this a lot stuff oriented towards selling guide trips. The site is well worth checking out.
The Missouri Trout Hunter website doesn't have the production quality of the previous two sites and is not fully up to date. However it has good info on trout fishing in Missouri, with especially good sections on manners and how to handle poachers.
The Fly Fishing Arkansas and Missouri forum is an essential resource for anyone who plans to fish the White River system. Mixed in with the solid, helpful information is occasional rumor and gossip about the fishing and fishermen in the area. Comments around Sowbug time can sometimes get NAFF members in a tizzy!
Websites with information of a more general nature
Trout University has good general information on trout fishing and fly tying, however a lot of their focus is the South East and the Great Smoky Mountains. Not that far from us! They mentioned NAFF on their website.
Global Fly Fisher has been around for years. It is probably the best and most eclectic sites on the web for fly fishing and fly tying. The production quality is great and the information is outstanding.
Fly Anglers OnLine has also been around for years. There is a huge archive of fly patterns, fly tying articles, and fly fishing articles. The FAOL bulletin board is one of the best around. Ladyfisher, Deanna Travis, the site owner is pretty opinionated!
All About Fly Fishing looks to have a lot of good info. But it is also full of advertisements.
Troutnut.com is full of photos and information about trout stream insects. It is an excellent resource.
