Hook 10 or 12  2x shank.
Body. Hares ear with gold oval rib
Legs. 6- twice knotted pheasant tail fibers
Head. Small muddler head clipped tight.

There are some other options that l also choose to use at times. Body colors of orange and green, and the addition of a palmered hackle, if l wish the fly to push more water in the surface, often this will have the desired effect to cause a Brownie to rise and nail the fly.

As a rule this fly is fished as the top dropper but l may also at times fish this fly at the tail of a team of 3 flies. When fishing trophy zones it may be used as a single fly, but you are restricted to be able to work this fly as a top dropper without a anchor fly below, the only option here is to set up a two fly rig with a 5 ins dropper, tie the fly to the upper and add a small lead shot to the end tag.

Believe this or not, some years ago, during the day of fishing the daddy fly with a friend, we nailed just over 50 Brown trout, working the shorelines way down on the White river, when we had perfect lower water and a overcast day, not to mention the many Bows that also took favor to this fly and the other wet fly patterns that we used in combination with the daddy.

It has accounted for many fine fish in the 2 to 8 lb mark here and a few over that weight in the past.
