After a three month hiatus during the summer months, the monthly fishing outings resumed in September. We couldn't have asked for a better day to start the fall season. With sunny skies, pleasant temperatures, and low water, all conditions seemed to be perfect for our outing at Roundhouse Shoals on the White River.
The fishing started wellin the morning and pretty much stayed that way with good numbers of trout taken throughout the day. The amazing thing was the numbers of trout taken on a variety of presentations. Bob Jensen and Bob Jones scored well with soft hackles, while Del Wahlert and Dennis Galyardt had success with bead head hares ear, gold ribbed hares ear and wooley buggers. The Rea Valley girls, Sara Thorne and Carolyn Hellmuth both had a good day with soft hackles and bead head midges. When asked how many fish they caught, the number given was "a bunch". Everyone agreed that it was one of our best outings and as Dennis said, "they were biting".
Our next outing will be on October 18th with the planned location to be the Spring River. A signup sheet will be at the monthly club meeting or you can call me at 445-2440.
