This rod is a "one of a kind". Bob Nunley generally doesn't make a 5'6" 5 wt rod, but this one was a special build for Sowbug 2008. The rod is a super fast action and will cast a lot of line. The bamboo that it was made from was aged for nearly a decade before the rod was made from it. 2 pieces with one tip, the retail price of the rod would be $1095. The ferrules and reel seat hardware are all handmade in the RL Nunley Rod shop. Everything on the rod is crafted in the Nunley shop, except the guides.
This rod is ideal for casting anything from tiny dries to heavy wet flies but it was especially designed for casting Stimulators and Hoppers in the summertime. This is the same length and line weight rod that Bob fished every summer in Wyoming and Montana for decades.
