Name of Fly: Soft Hackle
Tied by Jim Babcock

Hook Size: #14 (#14 - #16)
Style / Make: SCUD - TMC 2487

Thread: UNI Thread 6/0, color to complement wire selected

Tying Materials:
1.        Hook
2.        Thread
3.        Wire
4.        small glass bead
5.        peacock herl
6.        Wet fly hackle (size appropriate to selected hook)


Tying Procedure:

1.        Pinch down barb, or select barbless hook
2.         Position small, glass bead onto hook
3.         Wrap thread to bend of hook
4.         Secure wire and advance thread towards eye of the hook
5.         Wrap wire to form body (8 -13 wraps) and secure.
6.         Tie-in two strands of peacock herl and form thorax. Secure
7.         Tie-in hackle and make 2-3 wraps. Secure and trim
8.         Complete head wraps and finish.
9.        Head cement (if desired)


Comments: Body colors used include red, green, black, and tan.
